Özgür Özel
Özgür Özel (born 21 September 1974) is a Turkish politician. He is the currently leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the leader of the Main Opposition in Turkey. He has been the Member of Parliament for Manisa since 2011.

Since 2011, he has served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Manisa in Turkey's Grand National Assembly (TBMM). From June 24, 2015, to June 3, 2023, he was the Deputy Chair of the Republican People's Party (CHP) parliamentary group, managing the party's activities in TBMM. On June 3, 2023, he was elected as the CHP parliamentary group leader. Later, on November 5, 2023, he defeated Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu by 276 votes to become the CHP chairman at the party's 38th congress.[1]
In the first elections under his leadership, CHP increased its vote share by 12%, becoming the leading party for the first time since 1977.[2]
