2023 Arnheuser-Busch boycott

boycott in the United States

In 2023, several people began to boycott Arnheuser-Busch beers, mainly Bud Light. Arnheuser-Bush is among the biggest breweries in the world, and Bud/Bud Light is very popular in the United States.[1] As a result, the issue is also called Bud Light fiasco. Arnheuser-Bush wanted to attract younger people.[1][2] They ran an advertising campaign featuring Dylan Mulvaney. Mulvaney is a transgender woman and a transgender activist.[3][4]

During a festival, known as the March Madness, Mulvaney starred in an advertisement for Bud Light.[5] Many conservatives were against the video. One of them was the singer Kid Rock, who also triggered a boycott.[6] As a result, the sales of Bud light fell between 11 and 26 percent.[7][8][9] The sale of all Arnheuser-Busch brands fell around 1%.[10][11]
