Islamic term which refers to Jews, Christians and Sabians and is sometimes applied to members of other religions such as Zoroastrians

The People of the Book (Ahl al-Kitāb) is a phrase in Islam to refer to people who worship the "One True God": the God of the Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and Sabian. Zoroastrian faith is sometimes included.

People of the Book were historically respected by Muslim leaders, starting with the Prophet Muhammed.
