Aleksei Paramonov

Soviet footballer (1925-2018)

Aleksei Aleksandrovich Paramonov (Russian: Алексей Александрович Парамонов) 21 February 1925 - 24 August 2018) was a Soviet-born Russian football player and manager. He was born in Borovsk.

Paramonov won gold at the 1956 Summer Olympics. He played for FC Spartak Moscow from 1947 to 1959 and for the national team from 1954 to 1957. He managed the national team from 1969 to 1971 and again from 1973 to 1974. He also managed Étoile Sportive du Sahel from 1965 to 1967 and again from 1976 to 1977.

Paramonov died at a hospital in Moscow from respiratory failure caused by a stroke on 24 August 2018, aged 93.[1]
