Alexey Pajitnov
Russian video game designer (born 1955)
Alexéy Leonídovich Pájitnov (born April 16, 1955) is a Russian computer engineer who lives in the United States. He is best known for creating the popular video game Tetris. He was born in Moscow, USSR.

Pajitnov created Tetris in 1985. The game was first sold in the Soviet Union. In 1986, the game began being sold in the West. Since then, it has become a very successful series. In 1996, he started The Tetris Company, which owns the trademark to Tetris.[2]
In 1996, GameSpot named him the fourth most influential computer game developer of all time.[3]
