The American University of Beirut (AUB; Arabic: الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت‎) is the first American university to be built in Beirut, Lebanon. Its old name was the Syrian Protestant College, and it was built in the year 1866.[1] The name was changed to American University of Beirut on November 18, 1920.
