Angela Alsobrooks
American politician from Maryland
Angela Deneece Alsobrooks (born February 23, 1971) is an American lawyer and politician who is the United States Senator-elect from Maryland. She is a member of the Democratic Party. She was elected county executive of Prince George's County, Maryland, in 2018.

In May 2023, Alsobrooks announced her candidacy for the United States Senate in the 2024 election to replace Ben Cardin.[1] In May 2024, she won the Democratic nomination, defeating U.S. Representative David Trone.[2] She won the election in November 2024, becoming Maryland's first African-American senator and the third African-American woman elected as senator of any U.S. state.
