Angela Alvarez

Cuban-American singer

Angela Álvarez (June 13, 1927 – December 6, 2024) was a Cuban-born American singer. She was known as the oldest Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist winner ever. She shared the 2022 award in 2022.[1][2][3] Her songs were first recorded on an album produced by her grandson, Carlos José Alvarez.[4] Alvarez was in the 2022 remake of Father of the Bride, where she sang "Quiéreme mucho".[5][6][7] She was born in Camagüey, Cuba.[8]
