Apple TV is a digital streaming device made by Apple Inc. Apple is a company that makes the iPhone, iPod, and iPad. There are 4 generations of the Apple TV. It can be used to stream content (for example, music, movies, TV shows, pictures etc.) from other Apple devices or iCloud to a TV.

History
changeApple TV was first announced on September 12, 2006 under the name "iTV", however the name was changed before the final release because a UK television company named ITV threatened to sue Apple if they used the name. Sales of Apple TV started on March 21, 2007.[1]
On January 15, 2008, Apple announced they would release a free update to the Apple TV, allowing people to download media from the iTunes Store without having to connect their Apple TV to their computer.[2]
Apple announced a new, smaller version of the Apple TV on September 1, 2010,[3] followed by an almost identical, but faster Apple TV on March 7, 2012.[4]
On September 9, 2015, at WWDC, Apple announced the 4th generation Apple TV. It features a new Siri remote, and an App Store, as part of TVOS 9.0.
On September 12, 2017, at the "Lets meet at our place." special event hosted at the Apple Campus, Apple announced the new Apple TV 4K. Featuring a new processor, and 4K resolution, and TVOS 11.[5]
During an Apple Special Event, "Spring Loaded" on April, 20, 2021, Apple announced the Apple TV 4K (2nd Generation), Featuring a new Central processing unit that came with support for High-Dynamic-Range video, it also included support for HDMI, and, Wifi. Included with the new model was the new Siri Remote, and TVOS 14.5.[6] As part of TVOS 14.5, people could now pair their IPhone, with their Apple TV.
On October, 18, 2022, Apple Announced the New 3rd Generation Apple TV 4K. The new version is lighter and slimmer then the previous models. the new model came with new storage options, it also support for Ethernet, and the Siri Remote now had a USB-C Port commonly found on the MacBook.[7]
