Archdiocese of Łódź
Catholic archdiocese in Poland
The Archdiocese of Łódź (Latin: Archidioecesis Lodziensis) is a Roman Catholic archdiocese in Poland. It was established in 1920 and became an archdiocese in 1992. The archdiocese is located in the city of Łódź.

History
changeThe diocese was created on December 10, 1920, by Pope Benedict XV. In 1992, Pope John Paul II elevated it to the status of an archdiocese.[1] The archdiocese covers an area of 5,200 square kilometers.[2]
Leadership
changeThe current archbishop is Grzegorz Ryś, who has served since 2017.[3]

changeAs of 2017, the archdiocese has about 1,330,000 Catholics, 219 parishes, and covers a population of 1,410,000 people.[4]
