Asturias

autonomous community of Spain, situated in the northwest part of the country

The Principality of Asturias (Spanish: Principado de Asturias, Asturian: Principáu d'Asturies) is an autonomous community. It is in the kingdom of Spain or the former Kingdom of Asturias in the Middle Ages. It is on the Spanish north coast facing the Cantabrian Sea. The capital of the province is Oviedo. Gijón is the biggest city. There is an airport in Asturias, from where you can fly to a few places in Spain and in Europe. The region has borders with Galicia, León and Cantabria.
