form of arteriosclerosis
Atherosclerosis is a type of arteriosclerosis in which the wall of the artery has lesions. These lesions may lead to narrowing due to the buildup of atheromatous plaque. There are usually no symptoms.
When severe, it can cause coronary artery disease, stroke, peripheral artery disease, or kidney failure.
