Bannack, Montana
ghost town and former gold mine in Beaverhead County, Montana, United States
Bannack is a ghost town in Montana. It is now a state park. It has some historic buildings including the two-story school house and Hotel Maede. It is a tourist attraction and landmark of Montana.
Bannack began in 1862 when gold was discovered in the area.[1] It became the first capital of Montana Territory in 1864.[1] There are over 70 buildings and structures still standing.
