Ben Webb (artist)

New Zealand artist

Benedict Webb (18 May 1976 – 22 September 2014) was a New Zealand artist. He worked in both New Zealand and Germany. He worked mostly with both oil and metallic pigments. His paintings were mostly portraits. A lot of his works showed paintings of the Weimar Republic-era of Germany.[1]

Webb was born in Dunedin. He was the son of artist Marilynn Webb. One of his godparents was artist Ralph Hotere.

Webb died on 22 September 2014 at the age of 38. His death was announced on 24 September in an issue of the Otago Daily Times.
