Bernardino Piñera
Catholic archbishop (1915–2020)
Bernardino Piñera Carvallo (22 September 1915 – 21 June 2020) was a Chilean prelate of the Catholic Church. He was born in Paris, France. When he died at age 104, he was the oldest living Catholic bishop.[1] Piñera was ordained as a priest on 5 April 1947 and worked for the Catholic Action. On 11 February 1958, Pope Pius XII appointed Piñera Carvallo auxiliary bishop of Talca.

In May 2020, he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Piñera died on 21 June 2020 from pneumonia caused by COVID-19 in Santiago de Chile, aged 104.[2]
