Beta Canis Majoris

Beta Canis Majoris, also called Mirzam,[13] is a star in the southern constellation of Canis Major, the "Great Dog". It is around 500 light-years (150 parsecs) from the Sun.[1] In the constellation it looks like it is in the dog's front leg.
