The first case of the disease in Fiji was reported on 19 March 2020. As of 6 July 2020[update], the country has had a total of 19 cases from the islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu as of which 18 have recovered.
On 6 July, Fiji confirmed its nineteenth COVID-19 case. A 66-year-old Fijian citizen who had returned from India. He was transferred at Nadi hospital to be quarantined.[1]
