Candyman is an American supernatural slasher horror movie directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Jordan Peele. It is a direct sequel to the 1992 movie of the same name and the fourth movie in the Candyman franchise. It is based on the short story "The Forbidden" by Clive Barker.
The movie stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Colman Domingo, with Tony Todd and Vanessa A. Williams reprising their roles as the title character and Anne-Marie McCoy.
The movie was filmed in Chicago and takes place there.[1] It was released on August 27, 2021 by Universal Pictures.[2]
