Carina Hiemink

Dutch volleyball player

Carina Hiemink (28 September 1953 - 12 October 2014) was a Dutch volleyball player.

She was a member of the Dutch national team.[2] She played a total of 36 matches witn the national team, including at the 1977 European Championships and the 1978 World Championships.[3]

Hiemink started playing volleybal at high school. On club level she played in the 1970s with Sudosa SFC and Sudosa.[4] She was the captain of the team.[5] She retired in 1982 after a volleyball career of 14 years.[3]

Hiemink was the daughter of a book seller in Assen. She attended the Academie voor Lichamelijke Opvoeding [nl] (ALO).[5] She worked at KMBO-Assen.[3] Hiemink had two children.[3] Hiemink died in Assen on 12 October 2014 at the age of 61.[4]
