Puerto Rican boxer (1936–2022)
Carlos Ortiz (September 9, 1936 – June 13, 2022) was a Puerto Rican professional boxer. He won three world titles, two at lightweight and once at light welterweight. He was seen as the best Puerto Rican boxers of all time.[1] Ortiz had the record for the most wins in unified lightweight titles in boxing history at 10.

In 1991, Ortiz was honored into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.[2]
Ortiz died on June 13, 2022 in New York City at the age of 85.[3]
