Carol Danvers (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Carol Susan Jane Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, is a powerful superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name, she is portrayed by actress Brie Larson and first appeared in Captain Marvel (2019). Carol Danvers gains her superhuman abilities after being exposed to the energy of the Tesseract, which gives her strength, flight, and energy projection powers. She becomes a key member of the Avengers and plays a crucial role in defeating Thanos in Avengers: Endgame (2019). She later appeared in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), The Marvels (2023), the Disney+ streaming television series What If...? (2021-present) voiced by Alexandra Daniels, and a post-credits cameo in the miniseries Ms. Marvel (2022).
