Sully Sullenberger
Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger, III (born January 23, 1951) is an American pilot, diplomat and writer. He was the U.S. Ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization from February 3, 2022 to July 1, 2022. He is known for saving US Airways Flight 1549 that successfully landed in the Hudson River in New York City.

Sullenberger was born on January 23, 1951[1] in Denison, Texas. He is married to Lorraine Sullenberger. He has two daughters.
A movie about Sullenberger's heroic flight, Sully by Clint Eastwood has been released in 2016. Tom Hanks plays Sullenberger.
On June 15, 2021, President Joe Biden announced he would nominate Sullenberger as the U.S. representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization, with the rank of ambassador.[2][3] On December 2, 2021 his nomination was confirmed by the United States Senate.[4] He resigned on July 1, 2022.[5]
