Clay Matthews III

American football player (born 1986)

William Clay Matthews III (born May 14, 1986 in Northridge, California) is an American former football outside linebacker. He played eleven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams. During his time with the Packers, Matthews helped them win Super Bowl XLV.

Matthews was drafted out of the University of Southern California by the Green Bay Packers with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Matthews is the son of former NFL player Clay Matthews, Jr. and his uncle is Bruce Matthews who also played in the NFL.

On September 27, 2022, Matthews announced that he was retiring from playing professional football.[1]
