Colton

village and civil parish in Cumbria, England, UK

Colton is a village and civil parish in South Lakeland, Cumbria, England. In 2001 there were 765 people living in Colton.[1] In 1202 it was called Coleton, which was the Old English name for village.[2] It is built beside a small stream called Colton Beck.[2] The Church of Holy Trinity was built in 1578 and listed by English Heritage as a Grade 2 building.[3]
