Cossacks (video games series)

Cossacks is a series of real-time strategy games developed by GSC Game World, a Ukrainian video game development company. The series consists of 3 games and 3 expansion packs.

Cossacks series recreates historical battles on rectangular maps with isometric perspective. There are several nations to choose from, each with its own economic and technological development, unique combat units and specialisations.

Game name Release date Description Cossacks: European Wars 2001 The first game in the series covers the period between the 17th and 18th centuries. Cossacks: The Art of War 2001 An expansion to the first game, which adds 2 countries (Bavaria and Denmark) and 6 new campaigns. Cossacks: Back to War 2002 An expansion to the first game that adds 2 countries (Hungary and Switzerland). Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars 2005 The second game in the series covers the period of the Napoleonic Wars. Cossacks II: Battle for Europe 2006 An expansion for the second game, which adds 3 countries (Spain, Poland, and the Confederation of the Rhine). Cossacks 3 2016 A remake of the first game with improved graphics, updated models and textures.
