Dick Tomey
American football player and coach (1938–2019)
Richard Hastings Tomey (June 20, 1938 – May 10, 2019) was an American football player and coach. Tomey was the head football coach at the University of Hawaii (1977–1986), University of Arizona (1987–2000) and San Jose State University (2005–2009). He was born in Bloomington, Indiana. He played for DePauw University from 1957 to 1960. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana.
Tomey was diagnosed with lung cancer in January 2019.[1] He died on May 10, 2019, at the age of 80.
