E. Gerald Corrigan

American economist

Edward Gerald Corrigan (June 13, 1941 – May 17, 2022) was an American banker and politician. He was the seventh President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Vice-Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee from 1985 until 1993.[1] Corrigan also worked for Goldman Sachs, retiring in 2016.[2] He was also a member of the Group of Thirty. Corrigan was born in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Corrigan died on May 17, 2022 in Boston, Massachusetts from problems caused by Alzheimer's disease, aged 80.[3]
