Edward Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu
Edward John Barrington Douglas-Scott-Montagu, 3rd Baron Montagu of Beaulieu (20 October 1926 – 31 August 2015) was a British Conservative politician. He was best known for founding the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire. Montagu, who was bisexual, was also known for being convicted and imprisoned for homosexual sex in 1954. He was a member of the House of Lords from 7 November 1947 until his death.
Montagu was born in London. His father, John, died when Edward was aged two in 1929. He was married twice, first to Belinda Crossley and later to Fiona Margaret Herbert. He had three children, two sons and a daughter.
Montagu died after a short illness on 31 August 2015 at his Beaulieu Estate in the New Forest, Hampshire. He was 88.[1]
