Elias Khoury

Contemporary Lebanese novelist, critic publisher (1948–2024)

Elias Khoury (Arabic: إلياس خوري; 12 July 1948 – 15 September 2024) was a Lebanese novelist, editor and academic.[1] In 2000, he won the Prize of Palestine for his book Gate of the Sun, and he won the Al Owais Award for fiction writing in 2007.[2] Khoury also wrote three plays and two screenplays.[3] He was born in Beirut, Lebanon. From 1993 to 2009, Khoury was an editor of Al-Mulhaq.[4]

Khoury died on 15 September 2024, at the age of 76.[5]
