Erich Obermayer (born 23 January 1953, in Wien) is a former Austrian football player. He played for FK Austria Wien and the Austrian national football team as defender.

Club career
changeHe started his career with FC Wien. At the age of 16 he came to Austria Wien where he stayed for the rest of his career. In his 18 years with Austria he played 544 matches and scored 15 goals. He was chosen in Austria's Team of the Century in 2001.
International career
changeHe made his debut for Austria in an April 1975 European Championship qualification match against Hungary and was a participant at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. There he scored a goal in a match against the Netherlands. This was his only goal in the team. He played also in the 1982 FIFA World Cup where he was captain of the team. He played 50 caps and scored one goal.[1] His last international was a March 1985 friendly match against the Soviet Union.
Manager
changeAfter his career as a footballer he became a manager. He managed Floridsdorfer AC, 1. Simmeringer SC and FCM Traiskirchen. [2]
