Erwin de Vries
Surinamese artist (1929-2018)
Erwin de Vries (December 21, 1929 – January 31, 2018) was a Surinamese painter and sculptor. He was born in Paramaribo. His work had been displayed at the Stedelijk Museum and the Nationaal Monument Slavernijverleden in Amsterdam. De Vries also exhibited a great deal in Jamaica.
De Vries died in Paramaribo of respiratory failure on January 31, 2018 at the age of 88.[1]
