Esther Lungu
6th First Lady of Zambia
Esther Nyawa Lungu (born 2 June 1961) is a Zambian politician and public figure. She is also the wife of the current President of Zambia Edgar Lungu. She was raised as a Catholic, but she and her husband are now Baptists.[1] Lungu has campaigned against child marriage during her tenure as First Lady.[2] She is the Chairman and mentor of Esther Lungu Foundation formed on December 2015 to empower women and children of Zambia. In May 2024, Esther Lungu was arrested for fraud.[3]
