Ezra Schabas
Canadian musician (1924-2020)
Ezra Schabas, CM OOnt (April 24, 1924 – October 12, 2020) was an American-born Canadian musician, educator and author. He began working in 1952. He was born in New York City. He was a leading musical educator, clarinetist, and administrator in Toronto's musical institutions.
He wrote several books on Canadian and American musical history, and he was appointed to the Order of Ontario and made a Member of the Order of Canada.
Shabas died on October 12, 2020 in Toronto at the age of 96.[1]
