Politics

change

DENK won seats in the House of Representatives for the first time in the 2017 Dutch general election. Thanks to this result, Azarkan and fellow party members Tunahan Kuzu and Selçuk Öztürk were sworn in on behalf of DENK on 23 March 2017. He has been an MP ever since, and has also become both parliamentary leader on 21 March 2020 and – as successor of Kuzu – party leader on 26 September 2020.[1]

He leaded DENK into the 2021 Dutch general election in March 2021.
