Franz Riegler
Franz Riegler (30 August 1915 - January 1989) was an Austrian football player. He played mainly for FC Wien. He also played for the Austrian national football team.

Career change
He started his professional career at FC Wien. Riegler played as a right winger in the starting eleven from the 1933/34 season and made a name for himself as a precise cross provider. 1934 he moved to Wiener Austria. Riegler immediately won the Austrian Cup and the Mitropa-Cup.[1]
In the championship in 1936/37, he missed out on winning the title with Austria in second place only because of the worse goal difference compared to Admira. In the 1938/39 season, the winger played for the first division newcomer SK Amateure Steyr. Then he moved back to FC Wien in the summer of 1939. With them he reached good results during the Second World War with the runner-up in 1941/42. For FC Wien he played regularly in the first league until the end of 1950. Then he was playing coach of WFC Semperit till 1953.
International change
He debuted for Austria on 27 September 1936 in a 5-3 loss versus Hungary. His last match was on 6 December 1945 in a 4-1 win versus France.[2]
