Friedrich Franzl
Friedrich Franzl (6 March 1905 – 18 August 1989) was an Austrian football player. He played as goalkeeper for SK Admira Wien and Wiener Sport-Club. He was also a player for the Austrian national football team.

Career change
Franzl began his career in 1923 with SK Admira. In the following season, he celebrated the first championship. This was the first title for Admira. With Admira, he became runner-up three years in a row after the double in 1928. After the 1931 season he went to Wiener Sport Club. At the end of his career, the goalkeeper had another success with Sportclub by reaching the Austrian Cup final.
International career change
In 1926, he played in the Austrian national team for the first time. He made his debut in the 7-1 win over Switzerland on 10 October[1] and established himself as the national team's first-choice goalkeeper. He only lost once with the team to Czechoslovakia – but had ten wins and four draws. Nevertheless, from 1930 he was often replaced in the Austrian goal by Rudolf Hiden. His last match for the team was on 3 May 1931 versus Hungary. He was called up for the squad for the 1934 World Cup, although he did not play in it.
