Geometry Dash

2013 mobile music-based running video game

Geometry Dash (also known as GD or GMD) is a rhythm-based platform game developed and published by RobTop Games. It started being sold for $2.00 on August 13, 2013, and is a 2D platform game that involves dodging obstacles (spikes, walls, and creatures) in a series of levels. Players can create levels in the level editor, and play levels made by other players. Levels are also copyable, but stealing levels is against the TOS. To finish levels, they have to get through the whole level without dying. In every RobTop level, there are 3 secret coins which allow you to unlock the demon levels. Completing levels gives you stars and mana orbs. Map packs also give you secret coins. Mana orbs are like the in-game currency for a variety of shops. Moons are gotten from completing platformer levels, the newest addition in 2.2.

Gameplay

The player either uses the keyboard, touch screen, controller, mouse, etc. to control the icon.

The ways to collect currency are by completing quests and lists for diamonds and completing map packs for secret coins and stars. Platformer levels reward moons instead. Beating rated levels will give orbs too (since 2.1), while collecting the user coins (since 2.0) will unlock user coin achievements.
