Grant (money)

non-repayable funds disbursed by one party to a recipient

Grants are non-repayable money or products given by one party (grant makers) to a recipient, for example a person or group. Many times, grants go from a government to a nonprofit organization, educational program, a business, or a person.

People write proposals or fill out applications for grants. Getting a grant involves following rules and reporting back to whoever gave the grant on how the money is being used.
