Greg Wilcock

Australian diplomat

Gregory "Greg" Anatole Wilcock is an Australian diplomat. He is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

On 14 June 2012, Wilcock was made the next High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh by Bob Carr.[1] He gave his credentials to Bangladeshi President Zillur Rahman on 19 July 2012.[2]

His previous jobs overseas with the department were to Washington, D.C. and Jakarta. He also worked with the team that set up Australia's Embassy in East Timor.

Before arriving in Bangladesh, Wilcock worked in Canberra on Middle East policy. This was after he worked for almost three years as an adviser to Stephen Smith, when Smith was Australia's Foreign Minister and later Defence Minister.

Wilcock studied politics and international relations at the Australian National University and Monash University. He is married, and he and his wife have two young sons.
