Hayat Saif
Bangladeshi writer (1942–2019)
Hayat Saif (Bengali: হায়াৎ সাইফ, born Saiful Islam Khan; 16 December 1942 – 13 May 2019) was a Bangladeshi poet and literary critic. He became well-known during the 1960s. He published eight poetry collections. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2018 for his writing. He was active in the scout movement. He was awarded the 305th Bronze Wolf Award in 2005. In 1999, he retired as chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). He was born in Dhaka.
On 13 May 2019, Saif died in Dhaka, at the age of 76.[1]
