Henryk Samsonowicz

Polish historian and politician

Henryk Bohdan Samsonowicz (January 23, 1930 – May 28, 2021) was a Polish historian. He was known for his knowledge in medieval Poland. He was also a writer, and professor of the University of Warsaw. From 1989 through 1990, he was the minister of education in the government of prime minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki.[1]

He was elected a member of the Academia Europaea in 1990.[2]

Samsonowicz died on May 28, 2021 in Warsaw at the age of 91.[3]
