"Hip to Be Square" is a 1986 song by Huey Lewis and the News. It is the second single from their fourth studio album Fore!. It went to number 3 in the United States, number 9 in New Zealand, number 12 in Finland, number 14 in Canada, number 17 in Australia, number 28 in the Netherlands, number 29 in Ireland, number 32 in Spain and number 41 in the United Kingdom. It was later used in the 2000 movie American Psycho.
