Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj (Urdu: سیّد امتیاز علی تاؔج; Sayyid Imtiyāz ʿAlī Tāj; 1900–1970) was a dramatist who wrote in the Urdu language. He is specially famous for his play Anarkali (1922) about the life and love of the dancing-girl of Mughal times, Anarkali.[1] This play was later adapted and made into a number of films about the story of Anarkali.
