Isabel Toledo

Cuban-American fashion designer (1960-2019)

Isabel Toledo (born Maria Isabel Izquierdo; April 9, 1960 – August 26, 2019) was a Cuban-American fashion designer based in New York City.[1] She was born in Camajuaní, Cuba. Her career was based in New York City.[2] She was known for designing Michelle Obama's first inaugural dress.

Toledo died at a Manhattan hospital on August 26, 2019 from breast cancer at the age of 59.[3]
