Józef Życiński
Polish bishop, archbishop, philosopher, publisher (1948–2011)
Józef Mirosław Życiński (September 1, 1948 – February 10, 2011)[1] was a Polish Roman Catholic Archbishop and philosopher. He served as the Archbishop of Lublin from 1997 until his death in 2011.

Early life and education
changeJózef Życiński was born in Nowa Wieś, Poland. He was ordained a priest on May 21, 1972, by Bishop Stefan Bareła. He earned degrees in philosophy and theology.[1][2]
Ecclesiastical career
changeIn 1990, Pope John Paul II appointed him as the Bishop of Tarnów. He was consecrated on September 4, 1990, by Archbishop Franciszek Macharski. In 1997, he became the Archbishop of Lublin, where he served until his death.[1][2]
Death
changeJózef Życiński died suddenly on February 10, 2011, in Rome, Italy. The official cause of death was a heart attack.[3][4]
