Jackie Winters

Jackie Winters (April 15, 1937 – May 29, 2019) was an American politician. She was born in Topeka, Kansas. She was a Republican. She was the first African-American Republican elected to Oregon legislature. She served as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003. She was a member of the Oregon Senate from 2003 until her death in May 2019. Winters was Minority Leader of the Oregon Senate between November 2017 and January 2019.
Winters died of lung cancer on May 29, 2019. She was 82.[1]
