Jalalabad

Jalalabad (Pashto: جلال اباد‎) is a city in eastern Afghanistan. Jalalabad is the capital of Nangarhar Province. It is linked by about 90 miles (140 km) of road with Kabul to the west. It is also about the same distance from Peshawar in Pakistan to the east.

Although most of the people of Jalalabad are Pashtun, a few Dari-speaking Tajikslive there, too. Sunni Islam is the main religion of the people.
