James B. Thayer
United States military officer and businessman
James Burdette Thayer (March 10, 1922 – September 16, 2018) was an American brigadier general. He was born in Portland, Oregon. He was on active duty during World War II.[1]
His son, Tommy Thayer, is a member of Kiss.[2]
After the war he worked at a business supply company in Beaverton, Oregon. He was later appointed Oregon's civilian aide to the Secretary of the Army and then re-activated as commander of the Oregon State Defense Force.[3]
Thayer died on September 16, 2018 in Lake Oswego, Oregon at the age of 96.[2]
