James D. Hughes
United States Air Force general (1922–2024)
James Donald "Don" Hughes (July 7, 1922 – January 12, 2024) was an American Air Force lieutenant general. He was commander in chief, Pacific Air Forces. He was promoted to lieutenant general May 31, 1974. He retired on July 1, 1981.[1]

Hughes turned 100 on July 7, 2022.[2] He died on January 12, 2024 in Potomac Falls, Virginia at the age of 101.[3]
