He was drafted with the 8th overall pick in the 1987 NHL draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. In 1989, he played for the Indianapolis Ice and they won the Turner Cup. He played in the NHL for 11 years with the Chicago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks and Phoenix Coyotes. He has also played in the DEL for the Essen Mosquitoes, Iserlohn Roosters, ERC Ingolstadt and Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers.
